How is L (Langmuir) defined in adsorption of gases on single crystal surfaces?
I know it has to do with the time the surface is exposed to a gas and with the gas pressure itself, but I don't remember what is the relationship... Anybody can help?
1 Langmuir = 1 adsorbed monolayer.
If I remember correctly (don't take my word for this), it is roughly the amount of gas deposited when a surface is exposed to 10^-6 torr for one second.
