What will happen if I take out newly pierced earrings for about an hour?

I got my ears pierced about five days ago, and I need to visit my grandfather in the hospital for about half an hour or an hour. My mom wants me to take them out during this. First of all, the earrings seem like they're going to be tough to take out for some reason. Second, how will this affect my ears? I feel like they may start closing a bit, but I'm not afraid to push them through when I leave if I have to.

it should be okay if its just for an hour. the only thing is, if you try to put them back in and its hard, just get a washcloth and wet it with really hot water and hold it over your ear where the piercing is for a minute or so and it will open the hole back up. then the earring should go right back in like nothing.
