Ear piercing earrings difficult to remove? I got my ears pierced almost 6 weeks ago and I'm trying to...?
take them off so i can change them. how do i remove them?
also can i wear earrings that look like fishhooks?[idk what their called ]
and i can wear the earrings i got my ears pierced with again right?
i heard that i can wear any earring i want but i have to wear the original ones to sleep is that true?

Removing your earrings the first time is difficult for many people. Have a friend remove them for you or go back to wherever you got your ears pierced and ask them to remove them. They will be glad to remove your piercing studs and check that everything is OK. Of Course they are hoping you will buy some earrings while you are there. After six weeks you can change your earrings as often as you want, but you should wear only light weight stud earrings for the next month. By the third month you can start wearing french hooks (the fishhooks) during the day, but you should wear studs for sleeping. You should wear earrings all the time, 24/7, and avoid heavy earrings until your ears have been pierced for six months. After that you can wear any style of earrings you want, but if you wear heavy earrings one day it is best to let your ears "rest" with light weight studs the next day.
As soon as your piercing studs are removed have a jeweler file the sharp points off of them. Then you can wear them like regular earrings. You do not have to sleep with them every night, but you should wear some small stud earrings every night. After my children's piercing studs were removed I had them wear them once each week for at least 24 consecutive hours. Usually we would put them in one night at bedtime, they would wear them the next day and night, then we would remove them the second morning. This kept their holes at thier original size and perfectly round.
